She's Home

Butter Cup officially became our family pet June 3rd 2007. We are all very excited to have a permanent addition to our household. She is doing well, loves playing with us all, especially Tyler. She is set to go to Puppy Classes next week. Hopefully, we won't need too many treats!

Congratulations, Buttercup!

Buttercup is officially "Pending Adoption". She has been with her new family since Tuesday. She has a sweet little boy to play with and a lovely big back yard to run in. We couldn't be happier for sweet "Cup of Butter".

Friendly & Feisty

Buttercup is the smallest dog at our house right now (well, except Vegas), but she doesn't let that stop her from putting even big Luci in her place from time to time. She is so funny to watch-- life is one big adventure for her and she is out to enjoy it all. She loves to eat, loves to play, loves to explore. What a difference a week makes! Her coat is looking better every day, and she is working hard on her house training and home manners. A truly precious puppy! We have started to work on "sit" and some other basic commands with her ("go to bed", "drop it!", "off!", etc.). It should be a lot of fun to watch her progress in the coming weeks.

Bath Day!

Last Saturday was a big day for Buttercup. First, she got to go to her very first Forgotten Friends- Mixed Breed Rescue Meet & Greet. Lots of "oohs" & "aaahs" over the cute little Golden Girl. Then she moved (along with M&G buddy Ginger) to our foster home-- but not before a stop at Mud Puppies for a bath! The girls seemed to form a real bond and they remain good friends here at the house.

Buttercup got a bath, nail trim, teeth brushing, ear & eye cleaning, and gentle brushing-- full spa treatment! She enjoyed the bath more than most, playing a bit in the water.

Welcome Buttercup!

Like so many others, our hearts went out to dear little Buttercup the first day we saw her little ant-bitten and mange-ridden face in the photo on the Forgotten Friends- Mixed Breed Rescue website. Unfortunately, due to her sarcoptic mange, she wasn't able to come to our foster home because it is contagious to other dogs. Luckily, by last Saturday she was finally free of the sarcoptic mange and ready to come and PLAY! She still has demodex mange and will need another month or so until she is healthy enough to move to her Forever Home, so we have a few weeks to work on socialization and home manners before she goes!
